Canon has designed this film camera with evaluative metering, partial metering, and TTL modes with a center-weighted body to help any level of photographer have success capturing a moment. It is built with red eye reduction and 2-second flash recycling to capture natural portraits or action shots depending on the photographer‘s needs. A major draw to getting the Elan II is the simultaneous manual and automatic focus with USM lenses. No matter the light source available, the photo is balanced with the flash sync speed to capture the most ideal image. To find the right framing and high definition detailing Canon has outfitted the viewfinder with 92 percent frame coverage and 0.71x magnification.

Can't get away from film...
been a reliable camera forever, but had no need for it much after the ecomomy colapse and the convenience of the digital camera phones. I'm back with new found love again and was happy to see one for sale at such a great price. Problem....it feels like i'm learning all over again.

Part I needed works like a charm.
This camera was sold "for parts" and I needed a part that it had, and have successfully transplanted that part. (The latch on for the film cover door, which is a known-weakness of the Elan II body). So, camera itself "unreliable", and there was no lens, so "image quality" also a non-issue. But for a very reasonable price I've breathed new life into a body that has been mothballed for five years, so I'm a happy customer.

I got took
I bought a body for parts but the one and only broken part on my camera was the latch, the parts camera also had a broken latch. Totally usless to me. I'll never do that again !!!
