A trusty Blade!
It cuts through tree branches of up to, say, 5", very easily. I actually used it to fell a tree 12" in diameter, and that took longer, but it did that too. A lot cheaper than a chain saw, but somewhat harder work! It's a well-made saw, and the blade tension adjustment is fine, (not coarse), which means the blade can be made wonderfully inflexible, (very important when cutting mature, hard, wood). The blade's teeth are sharp and do not blunt easily.

Black & Decker Large Scorpion Saw Blade
Very good all-rounder from cutting construction timber to lopping tree branches. Just be aware that it is of a tempered steel construction not tungsten tipped, therefore just be careful to avoid nails or you will be buying a new one again.

These cut the mustard.
These replacement blades represent excellent value for money. By virtue of the short stroke of a Scorpion show the centre section will always wear more quickly that the extremities of the blade so to buy two at a time is a great idea. One new blade on and a spare for when the need arises. I have cut 6x4 section timber with these blades and truly is like a knife through butter.

great apart from the plug
the saw is easy to use. the only drawback is the plug,the pin that replaces the earth is plastic which is very brittle,mine broke. i bought an exeptional one whiich is german,it has a metal pin which is easy to replace,no problems since

My saw cuts 100% better with this B&D OEM blade
I bought a B&D electric saw from B&Q, it came with a set of 3 blades (wood, jigsaw, and hacksaw {intended for plastisc pipes?}. The wood saw that came with the electric saw was not of very good manufacture or efficient cutting action. I decided that I would buy this Black & Decker OEM blade, and the electric saw now cuts much much better. The original saw blade set is of China manufacture (as is the B&D electric saw itself). The electric saw now cuts well, but recommend slowly pull saw back and forth (no need to push down or use excess force), or rock the saw as it cuts - it will cut much more efficiently.

Black and Decker Scorpion saw.
Having tried this reciprocating saw on timber, I can confirm it appears to do a good job. It is easy to control the cut and keeping in the right direction is reasonable. haven't tried it on metal or a jig saw yet so can't comment. Appears to be a good product.
