great all around banjo with oustanding features
Another gold tone fantastic banjo. Still learning but can rip cripple creek at fast speed. So good I bought the ob250. A banjo to be proud of and great art work on neck. Great sounding, very playable, affordable banjo!
The neck is very comfortable, well sized for my long fingers, and the frretboard is very well laid out with nicely sized and finished frets. it was very well set up right out of the box. It has a fairly briliant tonal quality, to my ear, and I find it a joy to play. Also, it is relatively light in weight so that it is very usefull for traveling, even to local jam sessions. Yup...it was broken; but...
Yeah...the neck was broke; as advertised so no worries. Ripped it apart and used the pot and tuning machines to rebuild a Gold Tone I have (the pot split around the circumference). Packing was well done with bubble wrap so it was well protected. Currently shaping a shim due to the differences in models, but it's only an 1/8th of an inch and I want more stability. Convertable - Just what I needed.
