The Tannoy Cheviot freestanding cabinet speaker was the smallest freestanding cabinet in the Tannoy product line when it was introduced, utilizing the HPD315A integrated loudspeaker system. This Tannoy stereo speaker achieves solid, smooth bass frequencies in combination with an extended treble response and power handling capacity of 60 watts. The HPD315A integrated loudspeaker comprises a direct radiator bass unit and a high-frequency compression driver, with a Girdacoustic reinforced cone to deliver smooth performance and true piston action. The Tannoy Cheviot contains a customizable crossover network that allows users to select specific crossover points between drivers, meaning that frequencies can be directed to different speaker elements based on the acoustics of the room. In addition, the particle board enclosure of this Tannoy stereo speaker is lined with acoustic foam to minimize reflections and eliminate standing waves. The Tannoy Cheviot has a frequency response range of 40 Hz to 20 kHz ± 4 dB.
