The remains of the day - Kazuo Ishiguro
A story whose narrative has its own distinctive style, and whose content is at a personal level. This story was like getting to know a new friend. I was sorry when the book was finished. it's NOT thrilling, compelling or sinister, but it IS entirely believable, and very interesting.
