British Wild Animals by George Cansdale
If you saw the story of the Ladybird books on TV, this was the very first book shown by Chris Packham. He said how its beautiful illustrations inspired his interest in wildlife. The author, George Cansdale was the very first animal presenter on British TV. David Attenborough produced some of his early animal programmes in the 1950s. George them showed animals on Blue Peter until the 1980s. If you want a book to interest young children in British Wild Animals this is the one.
