An introductory section covers issues of authorship, background and so on, including a list of books for further study. Acts is the story of the birth of the church and the beginnings of its journey around the world. The author, Luke, traces this journey from an upstairs room in Jerusalem through the travels of a host of individual disciples across the Mediterranean world, spreading the gospel wherever they go.
