Description: "The Orc King: Bk. 1" is the first part of the Transitions trilogy from the Forgotten Realms universe, written by Robert A. Salvatore. The book focuses on the main character Drizzt Do'Urden, a drow (dark elf) who rebels against his ruthless and cruel society. The story takes place in a time of change and unrest. The orcs, traditionally portrayed as barbaric creatures, begin to organize and demand their place in the world. Led by Obould Many-Arrows, they strive for legitimacy and recognition. Drizzt finds himself in the middle of this conflict and must reconsider his own prejudices. He is faced with difficult decisions that test his understanding of good and evil. Meanwhile, other characters also continue to develop, including his long-time friends Bruenor Battlehammer and Reg.
