Clear layout, lot of pictures. Information easy to find. Very helpful, especially for beginners.

I bought this book as a replacement for an older version and, although I recommend it as a fairly comprehensive reference book, I was disappointed to find temperatures still given in Fahrenheit and the advocation of using chemicals to treat pests and diseases when we should be moving away from these. The care instructions are sometimes a little generic especially for groups such as cacti and succulents. As such, I still find myself having to "google" for more comprehensive advice. I received the 1991 edition and not as pictured but it is entitled NEW House Plant Expert. It's a pretty book though and the illustrations and photos are clear enough.

It's a little older and it does not seem to have every plant in each family included which can make things hard. It does include how you can propagate each plant though which is quite good.
