  • Good paperback copy of American classic

Bought this to have on the bookshelf in case cancel culture removed it from circulation or led to a 'revised' edition removing the bits deemed unacceptable to modern sensitivities. The content gives a superb insight into how middle and upper middle class US Southerners viewed the antebellum and post Civil War eras during the pre-WWII years in the American Deep South and recounts historical fact albeit in a somewhat romanticised way. A hardcover copy would have been preferable (at an eye-watering price, however) but this affordable paperback copy retains the unedited text and so is a good purchase.
