Obviously bought to find a baby name! I do like it and theres a lot of choice, in fact i'm still only up to F (its a bit of a slog - but must find the right name !) I have found it a bit 'american' perhaps,silly names, but there is plently of other choice. My only real complaint is that mine was published 2003 - thats ages and ages ago isn't it! However saying that its the one WH Smith are still selling so no choice really. Good buy and sure i'll find the perfect name in there somewhere!
Bought this as my daughter is pregnant. The majority of the names are ridiculous- for example some boys names - Spider, Dunk, Brick. There was a list at the beginning of the book titled - Names for children of Lesbians and Gays . I felt this is inappropriate and prejudiced. I'm glad I only paid just under £3 for it

the book in its self is set out pretty good,but and a big but is that the names are very silly and does not give you any good ideas!! the names keep coming up so many times in different pages!! and we are still looking for a boys name as this book gave us no idea at all!! it should be call 4000 best baby names!! not worth the money!!!
Bought the book for more Baby name ideas. Lots of names to choose from, but wasn't really a good thing for us. Still managed to narrow it down and still ended up with the original names we liked before buying the book. Good for people who are really struggling for names though.
this book is helpful although doesnt go into detail about what names mean only were they come from. i.e hebrew or latin. has helpful suggestions at the begining telling you most popular names in 80's 90's but this book is just not for me.
absolutly love this book. was really helpfull second time around. worth the money buying. it has a really good range of names from celbrity to common names. the first part of the book is split up in to sections which is good too.
I bought this as a guide to help my partner and I to choose baby names when the time comes. This was not really what I thought it would be. This book contains lots of top 10/20 lists of names in many different catagories. I was looking more for a book with names in alphabetical order. I will now be purchasing a book more suited to our needs.
