The Grass is Singing
I knew of the film that had been made of this book, although it is not available to buy. Doris Lessing's searing account of lives spent in poverty and uncertainty in the African bush makes for compelling reading. The unravelling of the main female character is heart-rending, as she gradually loses her mind, and control of her life, which ends so tragically. A must-read for anyone who knows and has lived in the bush on a farm, as I myself have done.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
