  • Alright but not as good as others.

I brought this book having finished the other Terry Pratchett graphic novels, The Light Fantastic and Mort. I have to say that The Light Fantastic, which is a direct continuation from this book is a far better read. I feel the TCoM is paced too slowly in some parts and far too fast in others. I also think that the humour was not as enjoyable as the sequel. That said, the art in the book is absolutely fantastic and I cannot fault it. The text is clear and easy to read (which I have had problems with from other graphic novels) and the story as a whole is compelling. Overall, I think that The Colour of Magic is an okay book that was certainly worth the amount it seems to be selling for. I'm glad that I purchased it as it answered a lot of questions I had from the other books but had I read it first, I likely would not have continued.
