I like this book. I have been spinning for a few years now but there were still things I learnt, especially about the dyeing section which seems very thorough. Some helpful tips on tools and techniques too. Good book.

Really good book to give you the basics but don't expect lots of detail ..what it does is help raise your awareness of what direction you may wish to pursue..

I bought this book so that my wife, who already spins wool from our own sheep could begin to use the loom that I recently bought for her however this book turned out to be a basic book giving some information but little detail. The section about weaving is of little use, only explainig the pricipals of weaving and refering only to very basic looms. No mention of the use of heddles (4,6 or 8 shaft looms) and their use in weaving patterns More detail needs to be given so that the reader could follow a step by step process in learning to dye using natural ingredients. Anyone reading this book might be tempted to have a go but would find its lack of detail frustrating.
