A lovely book, easy to read, with great character building as Lisa Jewell does so well. There are loose ends with some of the characters at the end of the book which I would have liked a bit more detail or allusion towards the future of but overall a fabulous book. I liked the magical quality of the character Gervase but felt it was kept within a realistic frame & not too far-fetched as I have seen, or rather read, in Cecilia Ahern books & for this reason can never quite relate to. Jewell doesn't fail her reader in this way - her characters are realistic & imaginable & very likeable. It's easy reading, not too complex or straining but so very very enjoyable.
Lisa Jewell is a master of family dynamics and the story is so compelling, you can’t stop reading!

i bought this because i bought another book of hers from charity shop and loved it..it was after the party.i didnt enjoy this one as much but it is still a good read.it was a little frivolous for my taste and not quite believable.her other books are more soul searching.its worth buying as a holiday read tho.
