Stunning eye-opener into an ancient world.
As a second hand bargain, this hardback book is lavishly illustrated and beautifully presented, and is well worth the money. John Drane is an excellent Biblical scholar, and his work repays careful study. He has updated his introductions to the Old and New Testaments in 2019, and this volume should spark enough interest to make people want to read his more recent work.
