This is a horrifying account of a truly shameful period in the history of the americas. The story's told of how the europeans landed on those shores and from the very outset considered the native inhabitants to be an inferior race who therefore could have no rights to the land they lived on. Its a story of the methods then used to aquire that land, by fair means or foul, though mostly the latter. It started out with good old fashioned chicanery and ended up in acts of murder and genocide; acts so terrible and deliberate that had they been committed in the 20th century there would have been a call for the president of that country to be hauled before The International Court of Human Rights. It is not a nice read, but it is a 'must read'.
Its a wonderful book, full of informations.
