  • Perfect growing up/sex education book

Although I'm not embarrassed by the subject, I found it difficult to put into words what I wanted to say and how to answer some questions and the detail to go into. I read the book first and the content is great and even has some humour so it's easy for them to digest (pictures too). I gave it to my 9yr old to read a bit at a time to himself by my side whilst I read something else so he did not feel awkward and when he finished, we would discuss it. I would ask if there were any words he didn't understand and talk through what he'd read. It worked really well for us. It also covers a bit about what girls experience which is a good thing for boys to understand. As a Mum I think it is very important children learn sex education from their parents so they feel comfortable talking about it and know they can come to you if they have questions and you then know they have the facts. Needless to say I would definitely recommend this book.

  • Awkward questions answered....

We got this book for my 11 year old son, it’s informative in a ‘ friendly’ way in an easy to read/ flick through format and will cover all the questions he may have and some he might not of thought of! We obviously got the boys version but it has also a section in it about what happens to girls too,

  • A positive and reassuring read

I'm a foster carer and I buy this book for all my 10yr old boys, it's very child appropriate and is set out in bite size sections, so the kids can dip in and out both with and without my support. It raises lots of questions, so be prepared for discussions, which in my view is the beauty of this book. There is also a version for girls, equally as good and both versions have a section on the opposite sex. These books are about positive relationships, friendships and your body changing when it's ready to do so. They provide positive reassurance and normalizes growing up. Fab!

  • Informative and easy to read.

I bought this book for my 12 yr old son. It was informative and easy to read and understand. He said that he felt comfortable reading it , and more confident to ask questions about the body and changes that it goes through as it grows. I was so pleased with this book that I bought ‘what’s happening to me’ girls for my daughter. I have recommended this books to other parents for their children .

  • Brilliant

As a single mum og four children, 3 daughters and 1 son, i wasnt quite sure how id answer his questions/ concerns.. and unfortunately his father isnt very good at explaining things and i know my son wouldnt want his father to have this converstion as hes not close to him at all... so i purchased this book, and j was very surprided at how good and indepth it was.. he was embarrased when i gave it to him, but i just said take it in your room and just read it when you want just in case you need it..

  • Highly recommend!

Really great book - can't recommend enough. Gave it to my 11 year old son and suggested he read it himself then ask me questions if he wanted. He sheepishly took it away into his room. Then once he was finished he asked me one night to read over certain parts (the parts he was unsure about I think) and we had a discussion about them. Made "the talk" so much more easier!

  • Facts with fun

Bought for 10 year old. Some of it a bit advanced at this age but he has all the info he needs as he needs it. Covers everything he could ever need to know in an understanding and easy way so as to not make it all daunting or scary . Good value. Free delivery.

  • Great little book

Great little book for older children. Explains in simple terms changes to your body with illustrations. My child is nearly 9 years old and started asking questions. I got this book in in case he asked again. Don't feel confident enough to give it to him yet as I don't think he's ready to learn about sex which is in the book. We'll cover those pages another day!

  • Very informative and written so a 11 year old can understand and not get embarrassed.

Rather than talking about things with my grandson, who gets embarrassed very easily. He read the book at his own pace and asked questions when he was ready. Even I, as a grandparent, learnt some new things. Definitely worth the money.

  • Great for boys age 10 up /puberty

Great book and excellent way it's written. Not in a serious, worry about way, of things that are going to happen etc. I've read through and it's really useful for both child and parents, especially those parents who find talking about things such as sex etc with their children
