Danny Kaye was a key feature of my childhood. His movies and 'The Danny Kaye Show' were compulsive viewing in our household. The life story of this great entertainer will keep your attention from the word go. His humble upbringing to a Russian Jewish family in Brooklyn to his early successes on stage culminating in his 'discovery' by Sam Goldwyn. His relationships-notably with his wife Sylvia Fine and Eve Arden- are detailed here. All the great movies including my favorites such as 'The Court Jester' and 'The Five Pennies' are discussed as well as his hit songs like 'Minnie the Mootcher' . Some fine photographs too. A great buy.
