Midsummer sun, time of sacrifice.
This would not suit everyone. It is complex, it is set in the time of the Viking ascendancy (tho' TV makes that contemporary), it is subtle, it is revealing of a time long gone. At the centre, the "King" sees battle as honorable but the Queen sees survival of her offspring as overarching. The Druids have their influence, being made up of selected men. But only to protect the here and now. Among the layity, he secret women's business is hinted at.
