  • Unparalleled excellence.

This is one of the best books I have ever read ( across any genre) _ as is the whole Dark Tower series. Stephen King, in my opinion is quite simply unparrralelled in the literary world and, with the Dark Tower series, he has surpassed even himself. He has created a world that is haunting, compelling, achingly nostalgic and deeply evocative; and the characters are exquisitely drawn. Jake's story in particular was deeply poignant and in this second book of the series, the gunslinger's meeting with Eddie continues in hilarious, thrilling white knuckle style. I enjoyed this book (in fact this series) so much that I'm reading it for the third time__ having re bought the books because I loaned out the originals and never got them back. I highly recommend this book. Stephen King , as always, is superlative.
