About this product

Product Information

Hemingway's classic portrait of the pageantry of bullfighting, from the Nobel Prize-winning author of A Farewell to Arms. A fascinating look at the history and grandeur of bullfighting, Death in the Afternoon is also a deeper contemplation on the nature of cowardice and bravery, sport and tragedy, and is enlivened throughout by Hemingway's pungent commentary on life and literature. Seen through his eyes, bullfighting becomes an art, a richly choreographed ballet, with performers who range from awkward amateurs to masters of great grace and cunning.

  • An unmissable A-Z for lamen or refresher for the bull fighting conisseur!

I've only reached chapter 4 so far but I'm so happy I bought it. Hemingway's highly detailed, addictive n eye opening account of one of the most controversial sports to exist and as barbaric as the grahic events of the Coliseum is enthralling in the least! To read this is akin to study 📖 a subject prior to becoming an expert from the comfort of your home. Given the passion that Hemingway conveys to the reader, you are as much as possible walked through the whole tradition of bull fighting from start to finish by Papa himself. To miss the opportunity to read this is creating a void in your life. This book is simply a genius work of art. To read it is to live it as much as you possibly can at your own leisure. Highly recommended 👌
