One of my favourite novels
I read this novel many years ago, when Joanna Trollope was just becoming established as a successful and popular author. I loved it then and have read and enjoyed several of her other novels since but this remains my favourite- love the twists and turns of the story and the independent nature of Frances, going after what she knows she really wants despite the accompanying grief she has to endure
