A story that will stay with me
This is one of those books I'd always meant to read but never got around to. Once I'd got over some of the terminology, I found it a beautiful story that will stay with me. A simple but powerful story that stays with you long after the last page.
Since the age of 9, I have read To Kill a Mockingbird numerous times. Scout, the young daughter of poor lawyer, Atticus Finch, tells of the summer her father defended a black man accused of a crime on a white woman in the Deep South. The case is dangerous and emotional and risky for Atticus and his children. At the same time of the trial, Scout, her brother Jem, and summer friend, Dill, embark on a separate mystery that forces them to confront their fears and sort out their own prejudices.
