I first discovered this book in 1970 while I was teaching Art at Windsor Girl's School in Hamm, Germany, it has been a Bible ever since. To be able to say to a surly disinterested mob of i4 year olds, " I bet any of you a fiver that by the end of this term you'll be drawing saleable portraits" and mean it was wonderful. It is a simply superb treasure house of teaching, techniques and tips that sat on my desk for a further 28 years. I bought this copy for my granddaughter who has just started at Norwich Art School.
