I found it to be a really useful reference book, to be used in conjunction with rather more lively listening and reading courses. I would thoroughly recommend it if you want to know the building blocks of how the language works.
An interesting book. It explains Portuguese grammar in the smallest amount of space --- in a totally logical order. First you learn all the verbs. You are up to the Future Subjunctive on page 29. Wow. The book has had quite poor reviews on Am*z*n. Why? Well, this book is in an ideal sequence for seeing how the language is put together --- but it is probably NOT ideal for learning the language. It is NOT in a sequence that would suit classes --- nor would it suit beginner students. It is a good reference work for teachers and advanced students. It is OK for those who have learnt several other languages already. I give it 5 stars if bought by teachers or advanced students. But 3 stars for others. Overall: 4 stars.
