I was intending to build a complete Chipperfield's Circus diorama in 1/50 scale, utilising the entire range of Corgi Chipperfield's Circus vehicles as the "main attraction" - until I realised that a "40-pole" Big Top, as erected by the Circus staff in their peak of public performances, would probably take up most of an 8' by 4' plywood baseboard, if their standard pitch planning was followed accurately - and that's a big display. Along the way, I bought this book as my main reference as to what circus vehicles and accessories were available from Corgi - in their die-cast heyday - and this particularly weighty tome is the bible for anyone with an interest in non-canine Corgis...

This book is for anyone who ever had a Corgi Toys collection and wishes they still had it. It's written with a passion for the subject and with a depth of knowledge and insight that could only come from the man responsible for the design of so many iconic toys. This is much more than a book of pictures of old model cars. Items such as photos showing the production lines and people working on them, newspaper articles of the time and adverts taken out by Corgi to promote the range - they're all there.
