  • A rare look at the less glamorous side of railway life.

Most books about railway worker's lives concentrate on the steam locomotive crews. This book however starts with the most important people...the P/Way gang. The author describes his life doing this work in a lovely way. At times you can almost feel a train rushing by while you stand in a tunnel refuge. Then you learn of the life of a goods guard, again an untold story. Then finally onto the author's working life in a signal box. A must for rail enthusiasts.
