Water is not one of this artist's strengths
David Gentleman is skilled with subjects having form; buildings, people, diggers, boats and trees he handles expertly with a fine sense of perspective. Water however he admits to finding difficult in his book 'in the country'. It shows here with some particularly lifeless seascapes. Also many of the drawings seem rushed and poorly rendered.
