A Brilliant Read and An Important Book
Battling Jack: You Gotta Fight Back is a brilliant read. It is an important book, too, in terms of British black history and the history of African English people in British boxing. I have to declare an interest: I wrote it. But, I did so because Jackie Turpin's story should be widely known. It is a part of British history that has been hidden for far too long.
