A good classic with interesting flavours from some good ingredients, touching on some cheffy methods, whilst inspiring for home cooks. I would like to eat most dishes presented in this book.
Worth buying this book rather than checking out online recipes for all the hints it contains
Received as a Mother's Day present following the recent demise of Michel Roux and the description of his best books in his obituaries. This one covers all the basic French cookery and is also full of good tips and tricks. Recommend it highly - if there are any left!
