Great book based on historical facts
A very good book first published in the 1930s so uses language that might not be as familiar to some people today. It is a very good story based on the history of the Babington family who lived in Derbyshire during Elizabeth 1s reign. Anthony Babington later met his death by being discovered attempting to free Mary Queen of Scots. The story sees a young girl who stays with her aunt and uncle in the farmhouse which used to be the Babington family's country residence, being able to cross back to Elizabethan times and to witness the events leading up to the failed attempt. Well written and very relevant to me as part of that family, worth a read at any age.
