Excellent cutting tool for the price.
This is my first rotary cutter purchase. I am used to cutting paper and fabrics with scissors or a steel ruler and a Stanley knife. Within seconds of starting to use this tool I was amazed. I'll be using rotary cutters now until I get too old for it to be safe. It is so much easier to use a rotary cutter, even after minutes of use, to cut accurate patterns out in fabric or paper. The cutting power is scary and it is quickly obvious that this thing will cause serious injury if you are careless with it. It does have a simple but adequate blade guard to make it safe in storage, but once exposed that blade needs respect. This is a cheap tool so I was not expecting much, but the blade is superb and cuts extremely well. At this price the handle is what I expected, cheap, uncomfortable for long term use but adequate otherwise. It does give you good options for control and works well in several different grip positions, but it has edges on it that will dig if you're using it for long periods. They aren't sharp edges, but they are narrow enough to cause discomfort in long term use. If you're cutting paper or fabric all day get something better. However for the money the blade is superb and the handle is fine if you're not using it all day. Don't buy a rotary cutter if you are clumsy, you will certainly cut yourself and perhaps badly enough to need stitching up. If your dexterity is normal or better and you're prepared to handle this tool with care and respect then buy one. For infrequent hobby use this Jakar is excellent. All I will need is the occasional replacement blade. Yes, I am happy with my purchase, and I would recommend this product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
