  • Skip CW’s introduction - A study of murder!

Do yourself a favour and skip the 1st 47 pages! Namely CW’s A Study of Murder. This is not the reason you bought this book. I got as far as page 35 before I thought this overly long introduction by CW, with its numerous mentions of Dostoyevsky and Nietzsche and explanations of existentialism, is not why I bought this book. It’s an encyclopedia. You’re supposed to dip in and out. A quick read here, a quick read there. The cases cover the bare essentials. The facts, the gory details, the outcome, the punishment. It’s just what you want. You can cover a case or 5 depending on how long you’re bus takes to arrive. So take my advice and skip to PP’s introduction. It’s much more relevant and interesting and much, MUCH shorter!
