A compelling, warts-and-all history from an insider - not the usual hagiographic guesswork as most of this genre turns out to be. Even putting aside the subject matter, this is worthy of consideration purely as a work of literature; if Mason hadn't chosen to be Floyd's drummer, he could well have had a career as a writer.
