A highly amusing series of books, revolving around an almost too familiar selection of characters, some with unique twists. Rankins writings are arguably from a twisted mind but are strangely compelling to the reader, with story lines that build and twist with a simple yet intriguing complexity. All 5 books in the 'trilogy' are a magnetising read and are a must for anyone who likes humorous if slightly occult reading. If your book shelf already contains Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchet then you should open your arms and welcome in a little bit of Robert Rankin!
