Detailed story month by month of farming life and its involvement in the local community.
A much longer and more detailed life story than usual for farming histories. Weather reports were monthly summaries so you can relate to individual events with which you may be familiar. The book is very illustrated with photographs of the author's family, local characters and livestock. There is a well-developed list of 'sayings' and folklore and a useful glossary for those interested in dialect and farming jargon. The Methodist Church and local events feature strongly.
