  • Very small overpriced. Very funny.

Very small print. Not the copy displayed. Overpriced. Price on back, originally 40p, I had to pay over £5. Very poor communications. The actual content was laugh out loud, yes really. I noticed some of the things the author wrote about in current tv programs. The book content is very, very good, although he does keep repeating things he has already said.

  • Funny stories about ' would-be ' actors and others

First, don't expect that cover ! It's a stock image. An enjoyable read, a little dated perhaps, but still funny even for one who's had no experiences of AmDram. If though you remember school plays and children's nativity plays you'll relate to what can and does go wrong.

  • Very funny.

Gloriously truthful and very funny. If you've ever acted with an amateur dramatic group, this book is essential reading. It may well shatter a few blossoming, amateur theatrical egos, but it tells it as it is - and it's absolutely hilarious!

  • Interesting and very amusing

I wanted to read this book, having read a recommendation a few years ago by another actor - justifiably recommended, I was pleased to be able to acquire it now as it was published over 50 years ago. As it concerned amateur dramatics, I found it particularly amusing as I too was involved with 'amdram' more years ago than that!
