In September 1996 Gianni Versace participated in the first Biennale d'Arte e Moda in Florence with Roy Lichtenstein. His clothes have been the subject of a 1992 exhibition at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and are in the collections of The Victoria and Albert Museum in London and The Metropolitan Museum in New York.
