  • Great introduction to the intellectual diversities of Philosophical study

I would recommend this book as an easy to understand entry approach for any beginner interested in Philosophy. By way of introduction it explains how to use it, the limits of what Philosophy can do and a short section on its history. Each chapter is topic-based with areas for consideration on the subjects of God, right and wrong, Politics, the external world, Science, Mind and Art. At the end of each subject chapter, there is a useful list of detailed suggestions for further reading. Each chapter can be read as self-standing pieces; not necessarily as a sequence from beginning to end. There is a cross-reference index at the back of the book; useful as a reference point for the reader to skip to a section of topical interest. Stimulating with cerebral challenges, it's language helps provide clearer methods for philosophical thought on a wide range of situations.
