An excelleny publication. As 71 year old native of Edinburgh I was delighted with insights given. A must for anyone historicaly minded or simply a tourist visiting our Athens of the North
great book, very interesting. couldn't put it down finished it in one day of reading. would recommend this book for anyone interested in the paranormal and the history of Edinburgh.
Bought this because of having visited Mary King`s Close, and really expected more of a story about there. All in all the book was pretty disjointed. Very disappointing.
Following a discussion with friends with regards to the underground town of Edinburgh I was compelled to find out more so purchased this book. It was really interesting highlighting the development of the underground dwellings and the reasons surrounding them. It discussed the history of the times and development of Edinburgh through the ages. It discusses the myths and the facts of the underground town, even down to the suspected hauntings surrounding it. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was not too heavy and easy to understand. It was interesting to briefly learn about the history of Edinburgh and it's underground dwellings and to unearth the truths and myths that surround it. It made me laugh, comment, "well I never," "I didn't know that" and regularly required the need for me to enlighten my family with nuances and facts. Highly recommended. A thoroughly good read. Go on give it a go. You may surprise yourself and unearth that hidden quest for knowledge that you thought had wained.Read full review
