Born in 1934 I can vaguely remember some of the cars my father had during this time. Since he worked as a designer in naval ordinance and weaponry he was allowed a fuel supply to use and maintain his 1936 Hillman Minx. After the war his first car was a1937 Triumph Vitesse followed by a Standard Vanguard which I used to pass my test in 1952. This book re-affirmed all my beliefs in the state of the British motor industry. Having recently disposed of my Rover 45.... wife !!! I still own and enjoy my relatively new, 1959 Sunbeam Alpine. The Rootes family goes deep.
Interesting book but the reference to the photographs is poor!
Don't be caught out like I have been, there is a book called 'Cars of the 1930/40's, different covers and publication years but exactly the same book as avove word for word and page for page.
An interesting book that covers the design of cars built during the 1930's and 1940's. Some of these cars were and still are design classics.
A great source of information which is backed up with numerous photographs and illustrations. A great reference book for cars of that period.
