  • A wonderful Sherlock Holmes Adventure

I have all the other Sherlock Holmes BBC Radio drama adventures on CD (59 CD's in all) and this was the only one missing. All the stories have been brilliantly re-created for radio. The Sign of the Four is one of the longer adventures and is a wonderful 2 hours of great acting by the cast. The story revolves around a lady who receives a very valuable pearl every year after her husband dies. Holmes and Watson are asked by the lady to look into why her husband died and why is she receiving the pearls. When a box of treasure is stolen, Holmes is baffled when it appears that a child was involved in the theft but the solution is soon uncovered. The adventure then really builds up to a climatic chase along the Thames. This is a great story and well worth checking out.
