Riveting!
I wanted volume 3 in particular because I was interested to read all her entries relating to the writing of 'To the Lighthouse', which is my favourite of her novels. Needless to say, I really do now want to read the other (five?) volumes, even though I have 'A Writer's Diary' anyway, which are extracts across all the diaries, I think. I did have a couple of (contemporary) novels on the go but I just kept going back to this diary; it is more compelling than any fiction. It is fascinating on so many levels - from the minutiae of her daily life, her social life and her writing life....but also the life of other Bloomsbury group people, many other authors of the time, such as TS Eliot, EM Forster - plus also a fascinating record of social history, a glimpse into the national and world events. Just riveting.
