An essential classic for anyone interested in Spain
If you're interested in Spanish culture and history you should read this book. Brenan writes with clarity, wit and insight, and delivers a comprehensive analysis of the factors leading to the tragedy of the Spanish civil war. Although written about eighty years ago, there is a freshness about the book and plenty that's of relevance to the modern world.
