This guide book is the standard to which all others should aspire. Well written well researched, the original has been updated by adding some pages of photos, without alteration to the content. Peoples modelling standards and expectations have altered since the original writing in 1980, however dublo still retains a modicum of being an able operable model railway, the engineering quality still being unmatched according to many (not only dublo enthusiasts either). The book has splendid photos, however there are 'dry areas' which probably seem more relevant now than then, and there is a bias towards dublo poducts, with less reference to the competition, but then this is a book about dublo and not a history of collecting. Whether if you're an dublo or classic train enthusiast, or just want to broaden your knowledge and appreciate why these items are still in hot turnover over Ebay, go no further than one of these. If you're overseas, it's worth paying the freight. I shouldn't be so nice about it - it made me get rid of all my modern stuff and move to dublo :)Read full review
