Great as a study of erotica in the Germany of 1920s and 30s.
This is a very explicit book. I was expecting more a historic view of the inter-wars period in Germany, but the content is very largely erotica. Not that that necessarily condemns it - it has been well researched and is a serious contender for book of the year assuming one is not offended by the content. I wasn't, but regretted the fact that there was a lack of other (non-erotic) content.
