Author BiographyNeil Gaiman (Author)Neil Gaiman is the acclaimed creator of the graphic novel series SANDMAN and of such novels for children as Coraline and for adults as American Gods and Stardust. His comics and novels have sold in their tens of millions. Like Terry, his works have been widely adapted for stage and screen, and also like Terry, he is the winner of multiple prizes, including the Carnegie Medal. Unlike Terry, he has never been awarded a knighthood for services to literature, although his mother thinks that sooner or later the Queen will read one of his books and immediately knight him if she likes it, and that to be on the safe side he should leave out the rude words. He does have the Newbery Medal, though. www.neilgaiman.com Terry Pratchett (Author) Terry Pratchett is the acclaimed creator of the global bestselling Discworld series, the first of which, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983. Raising Steam is his fortieth Discworld novel. His books have been widely adapted for stage and screen, and he is the winner of multiple prizes, including the Carnegie Medal, as well as being awarded a knighthood for services to literature. After falling out with his keyboard he now talks to his computer. Occasionally, these days, it answers back. www.terrypratchett.co.uk @terryandrob

  • Two Great authors, one Great book.

Two great authors, one great book. I watched the series on TV and the book is as always better, a funny, descriptive, excellently written, easy to read novel. Following characters through the lead up to the apocalypse! Good for all ages. I found it it easy to read as it doesn't get bogged down in the meanderings of Terry Pratchetts mind.

  • Two genius sides of the fantasy coin create a work that will surely last forever

The perfect marriage of myth, mirth and mayhem set against a background of the coming apocalypse. And you get to find out what star sign the Earth is. ( Surely its worth reading just to find out how its day is going to pan out today, isn't it?) Pratchett was a weaver of wonderful worlds and words while Gaiman's sharper darker edge to to his works combine in Good Omens to create a book that I have read and lent out so many times over the last 20 years that I have had to replace my copy. Please try and beg borrow or as a last resort buy a copy, and of course.... read it. You really wont regret it.

  • One of my favourite books

This book is wonderfully enjoyable; I have read it at least 8 times. I often still laugh out loud at the classic Pratchett wit and it never disappoints. Obviously its recently been made into a TV series which was also excellent but I definitely recommend picking up the book if given the opportunity.

  • an all-time Top Ten book

It's in my top 10 all time favourite books, along with Catch 22, Slapstick, Breakfast of Champions, Hitchhikers 'trilogy', Stardust etc. I've re-read it over again as it is just so funny. I just bought the BBC dramatisation talking book as well. So many wee funny bits- like the demon proudly claiming they invented the M25.

  • Good read

With North Korea on the warpath, this makes light reading when considering the impending apocalypse (also worth pointing out that the book is going to be adapted into a TV series with Michael Sheen in 2018)

  • Good Omens

A little bit heavy going to start with and lots of characters to identify. Not as easy to read as the other Pratchett books l have read although interesting.

  • A book to read more than once.

A classic fantasy novel. Pratchett and Gaiman are the dream team. Sadly Sir Terry is no longer with us, but his creations live on.

  • One of Pratchett's best books and made a good TV series.

The printing was a bit squashed into the pages. I should have bought a hardback edition.
