I spent weeks trying to find a replacement charger for my Asus U500V laptop after I dropped my original charger and damaged it. I bought two Asus chargers here on ebay, both of which were listed as compatible with my model laptio, but both had the wrong size adapter (I needed a 4.5mm exterior, 3mm interior, and central pin - two diffferent vendors sent me a charger whose adapter had a 5mm exterior with no central pin, despite their listings stating they were the central pin versions). This generic adapter worked perfectly. There is a small rubber fitting that slots in next to the voltage selector switch to prevent the voltage switch from accidentally being nudged to a different setting, so no risk there. Thank you!

I received item tried to charge my laptop and alternative appliance as neither worked. Ian charger did work so naturally thought the problem was from the adaptor charging ads. Contacted supplier who asked me a lot of questions regarding my laptop make and model and how i was charging my laptop. The reply in which I have received is this charger is not compatible with my laptop and can o keep it and give it to someone who can use it! I am highly annoyed and will be taking this further.

Worked twice and then on the third use after 2 days exploded when the wall switch was turned on. I had the voltage set correctly for my laptop model so clearly a capacitor blew up due to a fault. Fortunately, the laptop was unharmed in the making of this review.... but it could have been much worse as it is a potential fire hazard. I'm waiting for a replacement but am concerned the same will happen :-/
