About this product

Product Information

The Mummy is once again resurrected, this time for the GBA, with a new developer and source of material from the animated WB television show. Not to be confused with the 2000 GBC version of the game, which was based on the 1999 film, developer Ubi Soft Entertainment's 2002 version lets players switch between characters Rick, Evy, and Alex in real-time as they explore four Egyptian environments while investigating mysterious events at an archaeological dig site in Cairo. The O'Connell clan will face giant scorpions and monsters, meet old friend Ardeth Bay, confront the evil Colin Weasler, and try to prevent Imhotep from acquiring the dreaded Book of the Dead.

During the adventure, gameplay fluctuates between quest and combat styles, with each character having specific skills and abilities that come into play depending on the situation. Switching between characters is an integral theme of gameplay, as Evy specializes in throwing things, Rick is slow but strong, and Alex learns seven magic spells by finding Magic Statues from the old Medjai Academy. Spells range from invoking earthquake damage and casting Osiris balls of fire to increases of energy, gusts of wind, and disruption beams.

Items and weapons include green scarab keys that open doors, different colored star keys for specific locations, dynamite, throwing sticks, magic potions, life potions, and coins for reincarnation. The Mummy features a password save system, which maintains accessible locations, star keys acquired, and magic spells learned by Alex.

  • Superb for a game boy Advance game!

I hate that it asks if the graphics are good because it’s a game boy and that’s just the way it is. But the game works great. It’s not that horrid side view 2D stuff from game boy color. It’s a good find it really is, it’s like open world but it’s not quite. It’s fairly exploitable and vast. The story is decent. But hey it’s the best of the mummy games on these old consoles. At least the only one worth buying. I would suggest finding King Kong on Advance as well. They both play the exact same very similar. I love it brings back memories from when I was a kid. And I love the Mummy movies!
